Two years in a row I have earned the honor of being the top scorer for the Watchung Hills Regional High School girls Field Hockey Team. Last fall I was voted to be Captain of the Junior Varsity Team by my teammates. That season our team had many wins and very few loses. We knew the true meaning of being a team, by working together and believing in each other. Throughout the year I take lessons to improve my skills and technique in hitting, offensive moves, effective goal scoring, and passing. It is my dream to play collegiate field hockey while pursuing a Master of Science degree in Occupational or Physical Therapy. My grade point average after finishing sophomore year is a 3.2.
I enjoy playing a competitive sport and being part of a team with a community of peers who enjoy the sport as much as I do. Playing field hockey has taught me to be resilient and confident. In addition, it has pushed me to perform at a higher level of physical strength and endurance. This sport has taught me the art of goal setting, discipline, playing by the rules and the habit of commitment regardless if, we win or lose. Achieving my personal goals for today, as well as the future is to help others pursue and attain excellence to the best of their ability. Also, to find the best in themselves by pushing beyond what they thought possible when striving to accomplish their individual goals.
