The moment I picked up a field hockey stick in seventh grade, I was sur field hockey would be an important part of my life. In that moment, I promised I would put in a lot of effort so I can excel. Whether on the field or in the classroom, I apply myself and act through diligence to insure my goals. I do not believe in minimal effort; in field hockey, I challenge myself before and after practice to satisfy my desire to reach the next level, and when I don't have a stick in my hand, I am running or working out to improve my strength and endurance. When I am tired, I tell myself that dreams aren't reached simply by dreaming, but by doing. This past season, I suffered a blow to my jaw from a field hockey stick during a high school game, resulting in stitches and a lot of pain. Sitting on the sidelines the rest of the season as my face healed was a struggle- I wanted to be running alongside my teammates, driving the score up! To bounce back and make up the time I missed, I have been working on my stick handling after school, and with any other time I can find. Fueled by passion, I have been pushing myself even harder in my training. Similarly, I aspire to have high marks on my report card, which I make happen through countless hours of studying and early mornings and late nights. With my head set on straight, I recognize the potential I have to become an influential individual, which starts with my athletics and education. Fortunately, I have been given the gift of education and opportunities in field hockey, which take advantage of. Success is not just something I want for myself, but for my teammates and classmates. When they achieve, I feel enthused; hard work should be recognized. To work with others that want it as much as me, on my field hockey team and in my classes, is amazing because passion is something to be shared.
With big dreams, I want to find a college that maximizes my capability athletically and academically, so I can eventually become established in the medical field with a great and elaborate past.
