My passion for field hockey began at a young age, watching my older cousins play. They inspire me to get better at field hockey everyday. My oldest cousin currently plays for The University of Maryland and my second oldest cousin plays at James Madison University. I guess you could say that field hockey is in my blood. Watching my cousins play growing up inspired me to be like them one day, they helped me to be the player that I am today. They inspired me to make myself a better player everyday and some advice that they gave me was to never give up and that it is okay to make mistakes. They also told me that when you first learn a new skill you need to work hard and persevere.
I first started falling in love with field hockey when I was younger and attended my aunt's practices and clinics. My cousins have shown me that to be successful in field hockey you have to be a team player, a hard worker, and never give up. I think that over the years, I have developed those traits. At first, I just played around for fun, but then I really fell in love with the sport. I work hard in the off season by lifting weights and playing competitive field hockey. Everyday I aspire to take my field hockey to the collegiate level. I am looking for a program that will push me to be a better player everyday and I desire to succeed as a member of a team in college.
