Nicole Byrd '24 Recruiting Profile

Hi I am Nicole Byrd, I have been playing field hockey goalie for the past 2 years.  I have played varsity both years with a very high save rate. I also do play women's lacrosse as defense for a year. I do not play club but I do play full time for field hockey. One of my favorite memories from a game was playing Tallwood high school in a double overtime shoot out. That was my first time every playing a shoot out and I was able to keep 4 out of the 5 balls from going into the goal, and that game we won! I feel very comfortable going one on one during games and I am very good with blocking lifts. I am always on my feet going for every ball no matter where it is and I always use my voice on the field. I am very independent when it comes to defensive corners and I will always call for the ball and direct my defenders to always get on a mark or step up to the ball.
