Samuel LaPlatney '15 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Sam LaPlatney. I am a straight A student at The Montgomery Academy in Montgomery, Alabama where I am currently enrolled in three advanced placement courses. I was recently inducted into the Cum Laude Society, Spanish Honor Society, and the Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Society. I am a hard worker on and off the field, but I always keep schoolwork a priority.

Over the course of my high school athletic career, I have participated in Varsity Football, Varsity Basketball, and Varsity Track and Field. I am a two year starter on the Varsity football team and contributed to an 11-2 season and a quarterfinals appearance in 2013. I was awarded All-state honorable mention at Safety for the 2013 season and accumulated 760 receiving yards on the year. In Track and Field, I finished 5th in the state in both the high jump and the triple jump in the 2013 season. I am a team player, and I am willing to do whatever it takes to win for the team.

 I have dreams of playing football at the collegiate level for a school where I can receive a quality education.
