I have been playing football since I was 9 years old, yet I had been begging my parents to play since the age of 6. I was recruited to a select soccer team at the age of 5 and my parents felt that we needed to continue on the select soccer track to fulfill my commitment. At the age of 9, playing both soccer and football, my parents finally gave up the fight and allowed me to play football full-time for a season to see how it went. I was instantly in love and felt that I had finally returned home to the football field, where I belong.
When I am not practicing, I am working to develop my skills and training to get bigger, faster and stronger. I am often a team captain and always working to be a team leader to remind my team mates of the importance of hard work, determination and how to be a good sport always. I know that winning is great but even more important is hard work, perseverance and a great attitude.
I want to work and play at the college level to take my athletics and academics to the next level. I know that college will be challenging on many levels but I am ready to enrich my life with all that college has to offer.
