I would like to attend a college that challenges me both in the classroom, and on the football field. I have been playing football since I was 5 years old. Over the years, as I grew both physically and mentally, my love for the game grew as well. As a standout nose guard and offensive left tackle at Fairfield Preparatory School, I have become one of the leaders on the field of our team. I have a strong physical presence, mental fortitude and high football IQ that also crosses over into the work that I put in off the field and in the classroom. I have been training privately, year-round, with plyometrics and weightlifting, to improve my performance on the field. I have also been playing competitive club ice hockey since the age of 7, which has helped contribute to my athleticism and endurance. In the classroom, I maintain a GPA of 3.8, while taking a rigorous honors courseload. I am currently seeking the Congressional Award, which is the United States Congress’ highest honor for youth civilians, which recognizes initiative, service, and achievement in America’s youth. I have achieved the bronze medal threshold, which includes 50 hours of professional growth and physical fitness, 100 service hours and completed a 6 day, 5 night exploration, inclusive of a 15 page essay paper submission. My goal is to earn the gold medal award by the end of my junior year of high school. I am also a certified USA hockey official, where I referee both girls and boys ice hockey games in the New England region. In addition, I author and circulate a bimonthly newsletter across the United States to various assisted living homes for the elderly. I am in the process of converting the newsletter, the Posner Post, to a nonprofit organization. I am also a member of the media club at school, which is involved in the production of varsity sports broadcasts. Job details include managing the livestream, film highlights and interviews with student-athletes and coaches.
