Personal Statement
Hello Coaches,
My name is Isaiah Salter and I am Senior at Paul International High School in Washington, D.C. I am seeking a Safety position with your football team. During my high school career, I am best known for my speed and ability to make plays. I am the player that always receives double coverage and can play both sides of the ball. I am one of the best players in my conference (D. C. Public Charter league). This year, I lead the conference with five interceptions. As one of this year's best, I recently played in the D.C.S. A.A. Senior Bowl (Jersey #31) at Georgetown University, and the Capital One Bowl (Jersey #27) at Evergreen Sports Complex in Leesburg, Virginia.
Since Paul is a small, new charter school in Washington, D.C., we lack exposure and a number of resources, which caused a lack of film. Despite all, I am still a great player. I am a team captain and played several positions (defensive back, running back, wide receiver, safety, punt/kick-return). Last Spring, I attended a USA Football camp and was offered a spot on a summer team. Unfortunately, I had to decline the spot due to circumstances beyond my control.
Football is a huge part of my life and character. I have been playing since I was seven years old and wish to continue for as long as possible. After looking at your school's profile, I believe it is a good fit for me. I am willing to visit your school and workout with you team to give you a first-hand impression of my talent, commitment, and character.
As a college student, I am undecided on a major. However, I am contemplating journalism, business management, and/or information technology management.
If you're looking for a player that committed, coachable, accepts constructive criticism, has parental and family support, and READY TO WORK HARD and PLAY, I implore you to take a chance on me. You will will not be disappointed.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I can be reached at [email protected]. I hope to hear from you soon.
Respectfully,
Isaiah Salter
