My name is Lequient Knight Jr., and I love football like no other. I have been surrounded by the sport all my life. Since little league, I have played many positions. From Line Backer, Kicker, Tight end, Defensive tackle, to Left tackle. And an occasional full-back during my little league career. I have filled any position my coaches and teams needed, but my most consistent position has been the Center position. As Center, my sole purpose is to start each play by delivering the ball to and safeguarding the quarterback as he executes the plays. In the heat of the moment, ensuring each handoff is perfect is stressful, but just like a diamond, I was built under pressure.
I always ensure that I am game ready by practicing consistently on and off the field. On the field, I run drills as I would on game day, ensuring that I am mentally and physically ready; in tune with my body. When I don’t succeed in a drill, I take note of my positioning or foot placement and adjust accordingly to ensure I succeed in the exercise the next time. I also make sure to listen and apply changes my coaches mention. Over the years, I have prided myself in being coachable, a team player, a leader, flexible, and accepting of feedback and constructive criticism. Because practice doesn’t make you perfect, perfect practice makes you perfect. Growing up in a family where education is a must, I have overcome a few obstacles in my learning process. To keep my mind sharp off the field, I study. Currently, I have a 2.72 GPA and strive to improve daily. My parents and two sisters have multiple college degrees, so as you can imagine, my goals are the same. It would be a pleasure to play the sport I love while obtaining my higher education goals, being a part of an awesome team, making my family proud, and most of all, making myself proud.
I look forward to hearing from you.
