Dear Coaches,
Ever since I was very young, I have always aspired to do something good with my life. I understand that in order for me to help others to the best of my ability, I need to attend college and graduate. I have always been active in sports, including football, baseball, and track-related events. In high school, I picked up weightlifting. Last year, I made it to the Florida State Championships in the sport of weightlifting and placed fifth in my weight class. What sets me apart from other athletes is that I am committed to making practice in order to improve and be the best that I can be in any one of my sports. I strive to make every practice because it is important, not only for me, but for the team. Secondly, I take my academics very seriously as I know I must do well not only on the field, but also in the classroom.
I have learned some important lessons along the way. I have always been a team player and always respect those on the team, including all of my coaches. I always give the team 100 percent effort no matter the outcome; however, I do strive to win. I also believe that the family values that my parents have taught me are important and help to guide me in sports, with my friends, teammates, my teachers, and others in the community. Going to college with the help of an athletic scholarship would be a dream come true for me, and it would help my family and I very much in order to offset the cost of earning an education that I could use to help others.
