I want to go to college not because society says that's what I have to do, but because self-improvement is important to me. I want to gain the skills to make a better life for my family and I. Football and family has shaped me into who I am today. I found my passion for the game in the 4th grade. Training has positively impacted so many areas of my life. I have a healthy mind and body, I am confident and optimistic. I am someone who’s a compassionate listener for a friend or teammate and someone who leads by example. Football has taught me to push myself and set goals. When my body tells me to stop, my mind says, “keep going.” I have also learned patience and selflessness; sometimes your moment doesn’t come until late in the game - sometimes it doesn’t come at all. But my contributions are always meaningful on the team level. Football and family has taught me how to have fun. I don’t take myself too seriously, I can laugh at myself. Finally, football has taught me balance. I understand the importance of maintaining my academic performance in high school while also dedicating myself to the football program. I will always give my very best effort in the classroom and on the field and do my best to represent the athletic scholar. I will finish with words from my dad " You can't practice soft and expect to play hard on the field or in the class room ."
