Personal Statement
My college aspirations are to play lacrosse while studying marine biology. My dream is to travel the world researching and rehabilitating marine animals.
I became interested in lacrosse at a very young age. I had been doing gymnastics for 4 years when I was introduced to lacrosse. I fell in love with the sport during my first practice when I was 7 years old. I ended up quitting gymnastics to pursue lacrosse.
My parents have always told me I was a very tenacious child, and I think that has helped me throughout my life. I have always been the type of person to “not take no for an answer”. Thankfully, my parents were able to steer me in the right direction without squashing that part of me. When I want something, I go out and get it. I make decisions easily, and I feel like I make good decisions. Lacrosse has allowed me to apply my drive and push myself to new limits. I want to continue to learn and improve academically, in life, and in lacrosse, and maintain high standards for myself.
I feel like I would be a good candidate for your lacrosse team because of my perseverance and drive. Also, I feel like I can be an example and a leader for other girls. I am very passionate in my beliefs, which includes my behavior. I have no desire to get caught up in the traps of daily life. I keep my moral beliefs close to me which allows me to behave in a way that I am proud of. I want other girls to realize they do not have to get caught up in the same things everyone else is doing. I have worked so hard for everything I have, academically and athletically, and I only want to continue to work harder. I feel like my strength of character, adherence to my morals, and perseverance makes me different from many other recruits. I am determined, and I am willing to do whatever it takes to achieve my goals. As I said before, it is not in my nature to take no for an answer, so I will always do what I can to make my dreams happen.
