Hi, my name is Chris Mackey , i am a senior at Pepperell High School and I have always dreamed of graduating college as a athlete and going on to big and better things. Although, i understand achieving that goal is going to take much more than just good play on the football field. Whether its in the classroom or in the weight room I always give 100% and am willing to do anything to be successful. Here at Pepperell High School Coach Hurst is always teaching us the right things to do and is building us into grown men more than just football players. The things he has taught me and the rest of my teammates are the type things i look to carry on with me throughout life and to wherever i may end up.
I have been playing quarterback & safety since i was 7 years old and i hope to continue that for many more years through all levels and this season i am also playing at the wide out spot. I have always been up to being a leader and to take charge and i have learned that being a great leader on and off the field is one of the biggest traits you can gain from a sport. I am all about making the big plays when i need to but i do understand that i will not get that chance unless i work in the classroom and keep my grades high.
This upcoming season i am looking to come back fully recovered and bounce right back into the offense after suffering a season ending ACL tear in our second game of the year. Even though my season ended early it was good to get out there and get some varsity action and I will be looking to step up big time and emerge my senior season. I know it will be a tough task but i am more than capable; although now we have a even bigger obstacle and its getting that ring. But my whole life as been about overcoming the odds , and that is what i love about this sport, is that it takes more mental toughness and physical toughness than any other, and that is what i pride myself on.
