As I played the game I love, I didn't think that one day I would look at it as a way to improve my life.
I've played football for as long as I can remember, starting in my grandparent’s yard with my older brother and cousins to organized pop warner for 6 years, then highschool football for the past three years.
Through football I've learned many things. Through football, I've learned about myself, that I am ultimately responsible for myself, that the decisions that I make one day, can carry through forever. Through football, I've learned about my family and my community specifically that my family like our community will pull together and support each other. I've learned that football is more than just a game, if your a dedicated athlete then it becomes a lifestyle. What I learn on the field, I carry with me always. I 'm driven, I'm disciplined, I'm motivated, I have the perseverance to work through difficult situations and being a team captain has taught me to be a leader.
Football has also given me many opportunities. Football's given me the opportunity to meet people and make lifelong friends. When we're on the field, we're all we have, and we depend on each other to do the work and make the plays. Being dependent on one another creates a bond that last forever. Footballs given me the opportunity to travel; I've played football in Oahu, Maui, South Carolina, Las Vegas, and Utah. Football's given me the opportunity to grow in the sport that I love and as a person.
I hope to play collegiate football to continue playing the game that I love and that I've dedicated years of my life to. It is my hope that football will open doors for me to improve my life by getting a college education which I can use when my football days are over.
