Personal Statement

2014 (Senior) - I finished my high school football career being named All-State OT, St. Louis All Metro DL, All Area OL/DL, All-Conference OL/DL.  Finished my high school wrestling career 42-1, placing 2nd in Class 2A State Championship.  Named All-State, All-Area and All-Conference Wrestler for 285 Division and also named All-Area Wrestler of the Year for 152-285 lbs. weight class.  Named 2015 Highland High School Athlete of the Year.

AUGUST 2014 - COMMITTED TO THE UNITED STATES NAVAL ACADEMY.

APRIL 2014 - RECEIVED OFFERS FROM: 1) UNITED STATES NAVAL ACADEMY; AND 2) BALL STATE UNIVERSITY.

FEBRUARY 2014 - RECEIVED OFFERS FROM: 1) UNITED STATES AIR FORCE ACADEMY; 2) WESTERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY; AND 3) ILLINOIS STATE UNIVERSITY.

JUNE 2013 - RECEIVED OFFER FROM UNITED STATES MILITARY ACADEMY (WEST POINT).

2013 (Junior) - This past season, I was a 2-way varsity starter, playing DE and OT.  Named ALL-STATE HONORABLE MENTION (same as 2nd Team) OT for Division 5A.  Also named 1ST TEAM ALL-CONFERENCE DE AND OT.  As a result of my All-Conference status and because of my current cumulative GPA, I was named to the 2013 Illinois High School Football Coaches Association Academic All-State Team for Division 5A.  Also named 2013 Belleville News-Democrat Large School (5A-8A) All-Area Football Team 2nd Team Defensive and Offensive Lineman (only lineman--1st or 2nd team--to be named both ways).

Named 2013 Defensive Lineman MVP at the Illinois Big Man Camp and received the Adidas All-In Invite to the 2014 US Army National Combine in San Antonio, TX, in connection with the US Army All-American Bowl week at the Alamodome.  This top award was based on my performance at the Football University camp in Chicago, IL, on June 14-16, 2013, which was attended by some 300 athletes.

2012 (Sophomore) - I was a 2-way varsity starter, playing DE, OT and TE.  Named 1ST TEAM ALL-CONFERENCE DE and 2ND TEAM ALL-CONFERENCE OT.  As a result of being named 1st Team All-Conference DE and because of my current cumulative GPA, I was named to the 2012 Illinois High School Football Coaches Association Academic All-State Team for Division 5A. Also received a 2012 Belleville News-Democrat Large School (5A-8A) All-Area Football Team Honorable Mention as both Defensive and Offensive Lineman.

2011 (Freshman) - Starting member of varsity, JV and freshman football teams, starting both ways on the JV and freshman teams and earning my varsity letter. Named 2012 Eastbay Youth All-American. Earned invitation to Football University (FBU) Top Gun invitation-only camp 2010, 2011 and 2012.

2-time wrestling state qualifier, placing 1st in the 2013 IHSA Wrestling Regionals and 3rd in the 2013 IHSA Wrestling Sectionals in the 220 lbs. division.  I earned my varsity letter in wrestling as a freshman by being a state qualifier after placing 1st in the 2012 IHSA Wrestling Regionals and 4th in the 2012 IHSA Wrestling Sectionals in the 220 lbs. division, and in so doing, I was named "Athlete of the Week" by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and earned an Honorable Mention on the Belleville News Democrat All-Area Wrestling Team. I placed 2nd in the State in the 215 lb. weight class at the IKWF State Tournament in March 2011 after placing 1st in Regionals and 1st in Sectionals.

National Honor Society Member

Named to Principal's Advisory Committee.

Play trumpet and serve as a bugler at military funerals, playing Taps.

My high school athletic goals include: 1) being recruited to a college football program; 2) being named to the US Army All-American Bowl in 2015; and 3) winning the wrestling state championship. My academic goal is to maintain Honor Roll status while striving to achieve a minimum 5.0 cumulative GPA.
