Tyler Brewer '16 Recruiting Profile

My name is Tyler Brewer.  I am a  6'7" 280 lb. Senior in the class of 2016 at Shawnee Mission West High School in Overland Park, Kansas.  I play offensive tackle for the varsity football team, power forward for the varsity basketball team and am a varsity thrower for the track team.
My goal after high-school is to play football at the collegiate level.  I am currently working to improve my strength and quickness, along with playing basketball which helps a lot with my footwork and agility.  I am also working to prepare myself academically for college.  I feel that one of my biggest assets in football is my ability to quickly understand the plays that we are running, what my and my teammates responsibilities are on each play and the ability to understand how our opponent is trying to defend what we are doing.  
During college I plan on majoring in physical therapy/sports medicine with an emphasis on education.  After my playing career is over I'd really like to coach football.  I enjoy helping my teammates learn the game and taking a leadership role on the team. Most of the really great memories that I've created in my life have involved athletics and I'd love the opportunity to help kids have the same kind of great experiences that I've had.
Wherever I end up, I am willing to put in the hard work required to reach my own personal goals and the goals of the team.  I played primarily at offensive tackle this past season, but I have played quite a bit at defensive end and defensive tackle in the past.  I also have some experience at guard, long-snapper, and tight-end.  I'm willing to play wherever the coach thinks that I can best help the team.
