Personal Statement
My name is Isaac Prengel and I’m a 5’11," 165lb senior at Seaman High School in Topeka, Kansas.
I’ve been a multi-sport athlete all my life. I played soccer for nine years. I’ve played baseball since I was four, and currently I’m an outfielder on my high school’s team. I’ve also played hockey since I was four, and travel hockey for the past six years. Currently I’m a defenseman on a high school AA travel hockey team out of Kansas City which won the MWHSHL Championship this past March. I’ve been playing football since 7th grade and started kicking in 8th grade. My freshman year I was the first freshman in many years to kick extra points). I have not missed any PATs in a game since then (my senior season has just concluded) which I am proud of.
I attended Kohl’s Performance kicking camps this summer including an invitation to the National Showcase in July. During my third charting session at the showcase I began kicking without a tee. My Kohl’s profile video is linked in this profile. I continue kicking without a tee.
This week, for post-season honors, I was just named to the Eastern Kansas Sports 1st Team, and was also selected as 1st Team Centennial League. In addition, I've been named to the City 1st Team Offense as special teams player.
I am determined to kick in college and know that I have what it takes to kick at that level. I’m a hard worker and I believe I'm coachable. My ACT score also indicates I am a very capable student-athlete as well.
I know that I will be an asset to a college team because not only am I committed to improving my kicking game, but I believe that every time I step on the field I am playing for the guys around me. When I'm called on to kick, it's not about me - I have a job to do for them so I better do it well for the team.
