I haven’t always loved football. As a matter of fact, at age 6 I hated it! But as the years passed, I gradually began to see all that is wonderful and good in this sport. I began to understand the thrill of the competition, the release of aggression and the value of the brotherhood. Of course, it didn’t hurt that I have been blessed with talent and speed. By the time I was able to move from the league level to the scholastic I had already been recognized as an athletic talent, but it was during my middle school years that I began to see a possible future in this sport beyond high school.
During my 7th and 8th grade years, I not only excelled on the field athletically but also began to understand myself as a team leader. Off the field, I made a serious commitment to my academics to help further my prospects towards that future. In the three years since that point, my team has been District champs three times, Region champions twice and Semi-State participants twice. I also have had the fortune to have been selected twice to the Kentucky All-Star teams as well as All-District and All-Region.
Now in high school, I am even more committed to the pursuit of playing at the collegiate level. I now train year round, adding before and after school training sessions to my off-season schedule along with some of the nation’s most prestigious camps and combines. I also am a varsity starter on my school’s track team every Spring. In the classroom, I have dedicated myself to taking Advanced and AP level courses. I have the drive, ambition and work ethic to match my athletic abilities and potential that I would love to share with an institution and coaching staff at the next level.
