Samuel Holt '18 Recruiting Profile

I am a junior at Simon Kenton High School in Indpendence, KY.  I started for my Freshman Team at Center and was voted Team Captain by my teammates.  Our record was 7-2.  As a Freshman, I was chosen by my coaches as Offensive Player of the Year, this was an honor because in my Head Coach's speech he stated that this was an award not normally given to a Lineman.  He also stated that I stood out as a leader and always kept the momentum up for my fellow teammates.  I currently start for the Varsity Team playing Center.  Our record was 13-1,  we were District Champions, Regional Champions and Semi State Runner Ups.  I lift daily in our school weight room and we practice 4 days a week. In addition to football, I also am on the Track and Field Team, throwing shot put and discus.  As a Freshman I was on both Freshman and JV teams placing 2nd in shot and disc for our Freshman Regional.  My parents have instilled hard work in me, since I was young, in everything I do.  Academics have always been important to them and also to me.  I believe education is necessary to succeed in life and I take my academics and grades very  seriously.  My ending GPA for my Sophmore year was a 4.0.
