As a student athlete I want to go to College for football to improve my skill of the game, but also to better my knowledge Academic wise and have a fall back plan when football doesn’t quite work for me later on in life. As a student athlete I know my responsibilities to stay on point towards my work on and off the field, now towards football, I strongly believe I put all my effort into being the best at linebacker position. For example, last year I injured myself by fracturing my pelvis bone and physically not quite being able to play at my full potential for 2 games, but with the determination and that fear of failure of an mindset I have I went against the grain to not let my teammates down knowing I was a big part of the defense and try to win both of game with everything left in me. One of my constant disadvantages I get reminded of is my height ,I was told by so many I won’t make it far because of it, but I use that as an inspiration, mainly as an advantage though for tackling players much larger then me. Little do they know though, this “short person” works there ass off while others sleep and take this sport for granted, takes ever chance he gets to hit the gym and push his body and become better then the person who stands before me. I look at the game of football as a game of chess you could say because of the amount of concentration you have to put into recognizing/understanding how an offense and quarterback operates and once you finally understand both two you physically and mentally have an offense in your control. I am a very competitive athlete on the field and will sacrifice my body to get the job done, I have no fear or remorse when It comes to getting the ball Carrier onto the ground. I’m also a very aggressive athlete, especially when the game is counting on defense to end the offensive drive from scoring. You give me a task I will not only dominate that task, but i’ll do it with supreme confidence and perseverance.
