Rasheed Lyles '19 Recruiting Profile

I not only aspire but have a desire to be remembered as one of the best football players in the game. While my heart is to take my football career to the highest level possible, my goal is to also become a well-balanced student in high school, and on to college while exploring a degree in business. I believe that I would be a great football candidate, because I have the heart, work-ethic, dedication, and character to help with the impacting of your program. I love and respect the game, my team, and have the determination to go the extra mile to win. What I have learned through playing football is how to work as a team, trust and support others, and that I can endure more than I ever thought.

This senior year I ended my high school football season with the following stats: Solo Tackles 63, Total Tackles 101, Sacks 12, Caused Fumbles 1, Fumble Recoveries 2, Rushing Yards 4, Pancake Blocks 2, Tackles for Loss 27, QB Hurries 12 and Sacks Yards Loss 57.

My freshman year was my biggest proving point,  and it worked out in my favor. During my freshman year, I not only played for the freshman team, but took part in playing for the junior varsity team and assisting with varsity as well; I felt honored. My 2016-2017 sophomore year lead to a starting Defensive End position ending my career stats as followed: Solo Tackles 28, Total Tackles 55, QB Hurries 7, Passes Deflected 2.  My junior year I played Defensive End and Defensive Tackle , while also playing Offensive Line ending in: Tackles 26, Total Tackles 44, QB Hurries 3, Sacks 2, Tackles for Loss 5, Pancake blocks 11.

 I am always open to criticism and to being able to gain more knowledge to help my craft, and my team. What makes me different from other recruits is me being me. We all have drive and gifts, but I know that mine will make room for what I desire to do, should I make wise decisions. Being that everyone is different in their own way, I pride myself on believing what I was always taught; which is Romans 8:37 “I am more than a conqueror". I choose to conqueror on the field and off the field and in all that I do. This is to be said for my selected school, community, and more importantly my academics. I know this will not be an easy path, but I will continue to strive to do my best, by pushing even harder to reach my present and future goals.
