Dana Bender '10 Recruiting Profile

My name is Dana Bender. I'm 17 yrs old, 6'4", 230 lb. I've been on the varsity team at Smithsburg High School for 2 years. I was team captain for my senior year. My team went 10-0 last year and we were our conference champions. We had a strong season this year as well and ended up co-conference champions. I work very hard and I lift weights daily, all year long. I'm dedicated to my passion to play football and to always be bigger, faster, stronger. I want to play football at the next level. I believe I will be an asset to any football team I play for. I prefer a school where the coaches and players can communicate with each other and be accessible. I am pretty open to types & sizes of schools. It is more of what feels good to me when I visit. I get along with others easily, and I am very adaptable. I have incredible endurance and determination. I have competed in 5 combines & camps, four in 2009. I was selected to go to the Rivals Ultimate 100 combine for the whole Northeast Region. Where I came in top 100. The camps & combines I participated in were: Bullseye Combine as a Freshman, NUC, Nats, National Guard-NFL & then selected for the U100 Rivals all as a Junior/Senior Rising Spring '09. As for my 9 years I have played football (pee wee through High School), I prefer Defense, however will play where needed. Below are my awards & acknowledgements for this year. 1st team offense, 1st team defense, All county, All Conference -1st team Defense all area. 2009 Captain & 2009 Hammer Award I was also nominated and selected for the Baltimore Touchdown Club-All Stars Game.
