Michael Garrity '10 Recruiting Profile

My name is Michael Garrity and I live in San Carlos, California. I went to Archbishop Riordan High School in San Francisco, and I am now taking a Post Graduate year at Cushing Academy in Ashburnham, Massachusetts. At Archbishop Riordan I was selected West Catholic Athletic League (WCAL) First Team All League, San Francisco Chronicle All Metro, and I was the recipient of the Scholar Athlete Award. At Cushing I was selected to the All New England Class_A Team,Boston Globe Class_A All Star Team, and I was named Team Defensive MVP. I have fast reactions, good instincts, and excellent speed. At Linebacker on running plays I am able to fill holes quickly and deliver big hits on the running back. On the pass I read my keys well and drop into my zone fast, where I am able to sit low and take away the seams. I can play all linebacker positions. Although a 4.7 may not be the fastest 40, I pride myself on my speed. In practices and games I have been known to run by or run down players who's 40 is much faster than 4.7. I also pride myself on my strength. I have always been the strongest player on my team, and I train hard in the off-season to get the extra edge on my opponents. I am always working to improve my game. I am a leader and I lead best by example. I have been playing football since I was seven years old and it has always been my goal to play college football. I am a very competitive person and I am passionate about the game. My ultimate goal is to play at the highest level of competition possible. If given the opportunity I believe that I will be a big time contributor to a competitive football program.
