Jamie Calkins '23 Recruiting Profile

I'm Jamie Calkins and I will be a 2023 graduate of Marianapolis Preparatory School in Thompson, CT.  I am a starting middle infielder for MPrep (SS), and for my travel team, Polar Crush Gold (SS/2B).  Defensively, I'm a playmaker who turns hits into outs and gets our team off the field so we can hit.  Offensively, I'm a contact hitter working on driving more balls to the gaps and over the fence.

I plan to play college softball at a school that will challenge me academically and give me the opportunity to play to my highest potential, while I continue to develop my skills and be the best teammate/classmate I can be.

Some of my teachers tell me I am an "observational learner" ( I think that means I learn better through examples), and my parents tell me I have a "sharp wit" (I think that means I can be funny).  I'm cool with both.

I'm a Boston Red Sox fan who wears #46 ( Bob Stanley), and my dog is named "Dewey" (Dwight Evans).
