Briant Johnson '22 Recruiting Profile

Since I was the age of 5, football has been a huge part of my life. Starting out it was just like any other sport a young kid plays, a hobby, but it became much more than that. I began to eat, sleep, and breathe football, and surely enough, I fell in love with this great sport. Football has taught me to push myself in ways I never even fathomed, both physically and mentally, going to limits that I did not think were possible. For this, I am forever thankful, along with all the people I have met and the Sutton-Douglas brotherhood that will be by my side until the day I die. This brotherhood has pushed me to strive for greatness both on the field, playing hard to the whistle, and in the classroom posting a 4.2 GPA and putting my best effort forward even on minute homework assignments. I will continue to hold myself to these high standards in college as well and work diligently to excel at the collegiate level academically and athletically. In addition to this, I was blessed with the opportunity to help organize a pasta and meatball fundraiser dinner (following COVID regulations) with my parish for the Foyer St Etienne in Haiti, a nursing home for the less fortunate elderly, many community outreaches through my NHS chapter, and catechism education for the youth at St. Mark's parish. So, many people may look at football as just a sport, but I see it as a lifestyle as it provided me with all these opportunities and brothers that I will never lose.
