Personal Statement
My collegiate goal is to play the game I love in a college setting that will showcase my soccer abilities as well as fulfill my academic aspirations. Soccer has been a part of my life since I was 4 years old. I began as a defender and back-up goalkeeper until a teammate's injury required me to fill in as goalkeeper for the team. Realizing how much I loved the position, the following season I switched to a fulltime keeper.
I have a team first mentality and always want what is best for the team, whether it be high school or club. I set high standards for myself and teammates in order to be successful. It's not just about how well I do, but how well my entire team does. Leading by example, I always put 110% into practices, often training up to 7 days a week in-season and off-season to improve my skills. I've earned my teammates respect and they often look to me for guidance. I try to make those around me better by helping others on the team improve their skill sets as well. The team's and my hard work and dedication is evident in our successes, 2019 ECNL 04 North American Cup finalist and an undefeated 2020 high school season!
My drive and determination is apparent off the field as well. With a GPA of 102 on a 100pt scale, I have earned high honors freshman and sophomore year and received recognition with numerous academic excellence awards. I am a member of the National Honor Society, president of the Environmental Club, and play trombone in the high school band.
I believe my traits of selflessness, leadership, drive, and determination make me an excellent addition to any college team.
