My name is Carter Hladki, and I am a 5'9, 200-pound linebacker and fullback in the Class of 2026 from Birmingham Groves High School in Michigan. During the 2023 season, my sophomore year, I initially started, on varsity, at inside linebacker. In the 1st game of the season, the starting fullback was injured. I transitioned to offence and remained the starting varsity fullback for the completion of the season contributing to the first 2000+ yard rushing season in program history. In addition to playing fullback, I continued to regularly rotate in at middle linebacker and played special teams throughout the season as well.
As a freshman, l helped lead our football team to a 9-0 record as a 2-way starter and Team Captain. I was called up to JV for the last game of the season and helped our team beat our cross-town rivals. I was also brought up to our varsity team during the playoffs and worked my way into the starting lineup on special teams. We won 3 playoff games and lost in the Division 2 State Semi-Finals to Warren De La Salle, the eventual state champs. Our varsity team finished the season with a 9-4 overall record.
As a sophomore starting on varsity, this was a big development year for me. I thrive on competition and was extremely focused on further developing my field IQ, strength and skills to ensure I could participate and contribute at the highest level of high school competition.
As a student, I excel in the classroom, achieving a 4.5 overall GPA including taking several honors-level courses. Right now, I am interested in majoring in engineering when I get to college. I am dedicated to being a true student-athlete and a leader on and off the field.
In the future, I look to explore college opportunities that have a strong reputation for football and academics, and those that value what I bring to the table.
