There are many details in my life that have influenced who I am today.
First and foremost I watched my parents work hard every single day just to make ends meet for me and my six brothers and sisters. I learned at a young age that nothing in life is just given for free. If you want anything in life you have to work hard for it. No matter how hard it gets, you can’t give up.
I also watched my sisters and brothers all grow up. One by one they would move out and have the best intentions in life to only end up in the same spot my parents have always been. Barely making ends meet, at jobs that barely pay the bills. This has also pushed me to want better and not accept anything but the best. I will not be like them. I will be better, I will do better, and I will have better.
I became interested in football at a very young age. I was 3 years old playing flag football that my mom coached. Ever since then I have played and loved it. I’m not ready to stop. I want to keep learning and keep getting better. In my opinion it is the best sport ever played.
Playing football has taught me a lot about life. It has taught me true discipline, it has taught me what it’s like to want something so bad your willing to push yourself beyond measure to get it. Most importantly it has taught me to work as a team for a common goal.
My academic goals for college are to get my degree in diesel mechanics to work on heavy machinery.
I think I am unique because of my size. I haven’t always been big and I never thought I would be this big. I was a very small boy up until 7th grade. In football I was a receiver and a running back before 7th grade. When I started to get awkwardly big, it changed everything. I found that I love being a defensive tackle. Not only do I love it but I think I am pretty good at it, too.
