Academics:
Start senior year (class of 2013) this fall at the University Liggett School, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI. 3.33 GPA (9th – 11th) with a strong academic curriculum in the Calculus and Science tracks, with Latin for language.
Standardized tests:
NWEA testing performed in the ‘High’ range for both Math and Reading.
ULS/ERB scored in the ULS 4th quartile in Verbal reasoning (96% national), and scored in the 94% national in Math-Quantitative reasoning.
ACT: English 30, Mathematics 27, Reading 23, Science 25, English/Writing 28
Athletics:
Two sport All-State player: Football at Quarterback junior year, Baseball 1st Team at Catcher junior year.
Football:
-Starting quarterback (freshman, sophomore, and junior years) for the Liggett Varsity football team; 3rd year as a captain.
- Led the team to the second consecutive State playoff appearance; was named All-State by the Detroit News, All-East by C&G News, and was again named 1st Team All-Conference –MIAC as a junior.
- As a sophomore, Nate led the team to the first playoff appearance in ten years and was named 1st Team All-Conference –MIAC.
- Set all Liggett passing records as a sophomore. Passed for more than 4,500 yards and 50 touchdowns in three seasons.
-His coaches have repeatedly stated that Nate is an outstanding team leader who puts others ahead of himself and leads by example.
Baseball:
- Full-time starter on the Liggett Varsity Baseball team as a freshman and sophomore, as a junior, was named a co-captain and the starting catcher for the spring 2012 season.
- Integral part of the Liggett Baseball team’s State Championship in 2011 where he led his team in batting average, on-base-percentage, and stolen bases. He had the opportunity to drive in the game winning run in the State Championship final game.
- Again led team to the State Championship game in 2012. Led his team in batting average, homeruns, extra base hits, slugging percentage, and OB percentage. Led the MIAC Conference in home runs. 1st Team All-conference, 1st Team All Region, and 1st Team All-State at catcher by the Detroit News.
Ice Hockey:
-Starting goalie for the Liggett Knights Varsity Ice Hockey team for the past two seasons.
-Led the team to the second consecutive Regional playoff appearance as a sophomore.
-Has attended top level camps (World Pro, Bandits, and most recently U of M Elite AAA camp run by Bandits).
-Mike Hamilton (former coach of the 95 Honeybaked world championship team) and Rob McIntyre (Nate’s current coach), both of whom played Division-1 Ice Hockey, both said that Nate is outstanding goalie because of his athleticism.
Extra-Curricular Activities:
Church:
-Member of Christ Church Episcopal Grosse Pointe. Was member of the CCGP renowned Choir of Men and Boys from the fourth grade through seventh grade. Had the opportunity to travel abroad with the choir to Great Britain and sang at a number of magnificent cathedrals including Westminster Abby, and on the previous trip toured France and Italy where the choir sang in St. Peter’s Basilica and Notre Dame Cathedral, among others.
-Now an acolyte at Christ church.
Baseball Umpire and Ice Hockey Official
-Baseball umpire and Ice Hockey ice hockey referee for the last five years. Chosen to work District level games in the MAHA State tournament. This is a privilege afforded to the most competent officials.
University Liggett School:
-Selected to be a “Junior Counselor” for the incoming freshman class.
