Tom Hegewald '19 Recruiting Profile

I am very excited to continue playing football at the next level and look forward to challenging myself both academically and athletically.  I am highly motivated to obtain a great education. I currently have 4.0 GPA and have taken multiple Honors and AP classes. I  am well prepared for academic success in college. 

I am a diverse athlete with a strong work ethic and great competitive nature.  I have been a multi-sport athlete and in my Freshman and Sophomore year was all conference in track.  I have worked hard at being a great run-stopper, but also have the speed to play pass defense. I start at outside linebacker and tight end and have learned both sides of the ball. I was the leading receiver on my team my Junior season.  My goal is to play linebacker in college, but will play any position that gets me on the field and allows me to help my team.   I pride myself on having excellent fundamentals and good instincts for the ball.  I am very coachable and strive to play smart,  fast and hit hard.  I  am always working to increase my strength and speed.  

I am a good leader and teammate and appreciate the lifelong friendships I have gained, and will gain in college,  from playing football.   I mostly want to continue my athletic career in college because I simply love playing football.
