Jaylen Johnson '22 Recruiting Profile

I have a strong faith in Christ and have multiple attributes that will make me a valuable contribution to any football program and college student body. My 7th-grade gym coach encouraged me to join the football team in 8th grade. I quickly realized I lagged behind the other players in experience and skill, however, I was determined to make up for the little league years I missed on the field. I always worked harder than anybody around me to develop the skills I missed out on in earlier years and to develop the experience necessary to be a valuable team member. 

Loyal, persistent and reliable is three words to describe me in all aspects of life. I commit to being a good teammate, family member, and community member. I always work hard and strive to be the best possible version of myself in every situation. I lead by example. I always am where I'm supposed to be, at the time I'm supposed to be there, doing what I'm supposed to do. I always represent my family, team, school, and community with integrity. 

I come from a long line of business owners and educators. Though my college education, I plan to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to own and manage a business that positively impacts the youth in my community. After earning my degree, I want to mentor and support others who look like me, on their path to success. Playing football and being successful in the classroom are important parts of my life that I would love to share with youth, to help lead them through high school graduation, to college, and into the working world where they too can make a positive impact. 

My strength, agility, and dedication to continually improve my skills earned me the opportunity to play varsity football by my Sophomore year. After my Junior Football season, I was awarded 2nd Team All-Conference as a running back and as a senior, I was awarded 2nd team All-State as a Defensive end. I have a lot of growth and potential that I will realize over the next year of high school and into college.
