John Rinaldi '11 Recruiting Profile

I am a defensive nose guard and offensive center along with being a captain on my North Warren Regional High School Patriot Football Team. I have played on the varsity football team since I was a freshman and have started on the team since my sophomore year. During that time I had the good fortune to score a touchdown on defense as well as earned the following accolades: 1st Team All-Mid Jersey Conference, 1st Team All-League Valley Mid-State Conference, and 1st team Mid-State Coaches All-Star Team. In addition to football I am also a well-round athlete competing on both the varsity wrestling and baseball teams. I have been a varsity wrestler for four years and have been named as Second Team All-Conference twice. This year, I was also named captain of the wrestling team. In baseball I have been varsity for two years and have been named Honorable Mention on the All-Conference Team. Presently, I am the only tri-sport varsity boy athlete at North Warren Regional High School and have been since my freshman year. Besides sports, I also take my academics seriously. I scored a total of 1780 on my SATs as well as presently have nearly a 3.1 GPA. I am looking for a college where I can find the right balance between the classroom and the football field. I would like to enroll in a university with an outstanding academic reputation. Ideally, my athletic environment would be one where I could make an immediate impact on the team, but I am willing to do what is best for the team. Besides starting both ways, I have also enjoyed participating on the Special Teams. I feel I can certainly make an impact there. I have also received the Scholar Athlete Award, which I am very proud of. Since academics are important to me, I would consider teams at the DIAA, DII, and DIII levels.
