Matt Durocher '15 Recruiting Profile

Hi my name is Matt Durocher and I'm in the class of 2015 in Emerson HS in NJ. I am a hard working person both on and off the field. I am also one of the captains of my football team. I am a leader on and off the field. Academically, I am an honor roll student taking all honors and AP courses. I have a GPA of about a 4.8 on a 5 scale. I also am a member of the National Honor Society. I also was awarded with the George Eastman Leadership award, which is for a combination of leadership in the classroom as well as the community. I stand at  6'2" and weight 240 lbs. I started at left tackle as a sophomore and both sides of the ball as a junior. I was moved to left guard because we began running a hurry-up spread offense, and I would be able to pull more. I also played mainly defensive end on the strong side as a part of a 3-5 3-4 and 4-4 defense. I also was mixed into defensive tackle occasionally throughout the season. I believe this shows my durability and work ethic, since I played all 48 minutes of each game. As a sophomore i received Honorable Mention All League as a tackle in the NJIC Patriot Conference and 1st Team all Conference as a Junior, as well as Honorable Mention All County.

Outside of football, I am in many clubs and activities. I am a basketball player and have started varsity as a forward since my sophomore year. I also play baseball, and started since I was a sophomore as well. I anticipate earning 10 varsity letters. My goals going into my senior season is to work my way up to 240 - 250 lbs by preseason and when the season starts, to win our league and make a playoff run.

I am looking for a college with very high academic standards, as well as a strong football program. I would prefer to go to school in the east.

In college, I am not opposed to switching my position. I am willing to play whatever position would most benefit the team, offense or defense.
