My name is Carlos M. Teixeira. I have been playing full contact football since the age of six. I love the game of football! In my opinion football is the game of life; it teaches you how to build relationships with your teammates and coaches through practices and games. I have a dream to play college football for a college or university that has great academics and an outstanding athletic program. I love football, but my academics come first! I work very hard to be the best “Student-Athlete” possible. Additionally, every summer, since 7th grade I have attended Coach Tom Shaw’s Speed, Strength and agility camp located at ESPN, World Wide of Sports, Orlando Florida. Working alongside of NFL and College players, it has made me a better football player. The above mentioned experience has taught me to work hard each and every day on the physical and mental aspects of the game.
As a senior, I started at Middle Linebacker and played Fullback in our short yardage package. It was an exciting year because we won the New Jersey Central Group V Championship. During the championship game I made approximately 12 tackles on defense, and made some key blocks on offensive to help our team defeat South Brunswick 21-7. During the season, I made 89 tackles, two sacks, 6 hurries and caused two fumbles. I was the second leading tackler on the team. I also made the first team All Division voted by the coaches.
I’m poised and confident to take the next step in my academic and athletic career. Your consideration concerning this matter is appreciated.
