Hello coach:
I am a 6'4 230lb Defensive End at Saint Peters Prep in Jersey City, New Jersey. I primarily play defense, and also packages where a traditional TE is used; I am willing to play on either sides of the ball - whatever it takes to help my team. I currently have a 3.7 GPA at one of the best private schools in my state and have been honored at my school due to my academic achievements. I'm also actively involved in the community through our teen club at my church.
My parents have enforced hard working qualities in me and they have taught me to work hard in everything I do. They both went through a lot of adversity to become very successful people. My dad has been both a teacher and a mentor for me on and of the football field. As a 12 year NFL Veteran offensive tackle, he has taught me many aspects of football giving me better knowledge of the mental approach to the game. My mother was a D-III volleyball player and I have learned from her that you must always maximize your ability. One of my goals is also to earn a scholarship to play at a FBS/FCS school. Besides the honor of representing a college or university as a collegiate athlete, I know that college is expensive and I don't want my parents to have to help me pay for tuition.
I'm also aware that I must become the best athlete that I can be, and stand out from others to earn a scholarship. I'll strive to attend a school that highly values academics because I know that the chances of playing professional football are highly unlikely. In terms of choosing a school to go to, I would like to go to a school where I could see myself contributing as a true freshman. I feel that is important to go to a school where I have a great relationship with the coaches and the players.
