Track is something I dreaded about doing for years, but while training for football during the summer my trainer said I had lots of potential. After considering it and having talks about not putting all my eggs in one basket I decided to run track my this year and Ive gained a love for it that surpasses the passion I had for football. I have gained a love to triple, long, and high jump since I have started and I wish I could’ve played the sport sooner. Before track though, football truly taught me that nothing is handed out and everything is earned through hard work and being close with god. I was always a lazy skinny kid, who had trouble with gaining weight, but never put in the work to change anything about it. That all changed this year, going into my senior season, when I put in the work to put on 25lbs of muscle in 5 months. On top of that, I was working on my raising my grades in 2 classes I struggled in to boost my GPA up to a 3.1.
If a coach gave me the opportunity to play with them I´d bring a positive, hardworking, and passionate vibe into their onto the team. Having a good bond with my teammates is something I care deeply about, especially when we solely want the same goal. Ive decided to do track at RCSJ(community college) for a year to sharpen my skills and hope the results pay off to transfer to a D1 school. Any coach willing to give me the platform to showcase my talents will not regret their choice putting faith in me.
