Nicholas Honerkamp '22 Recruiting Profile

My name is Nicholas Honerkamp and I am a dedicated football player. Not only am I an athlete I am a student of the game. Playing football on many levels I have had many coaches who helped instill the work ethic needed to play on each level. Having them gave me the confidence I needed to win starting jobs on each level. In 1st grade I loved playing this game from the friendships to the competition. Now entering a highly competitive high school team the lessons I learned gave me the ability to win the starting job but also play at a high level. I believe my year round dedication is one of the reasons for my early success. Playing multiple sports and competing as also aided in my development. Knowing that I am capable of playing football in college makes me more passionate for the game. I have learned that the growth process is continual and even when I have a good game I go back to the video tape to look for little things to improve on. This attitude of growing in the position has given me the first on and last off the field attitude. Growing and leading by example is the way I love to play the game.

When it comes to choosing what College I would like to go to I am open minded. If I can receive a good education and play football at a competitive level I will be happy.  I feel I have the skill set to play in different types of offenses at the quarterback position. My desire to improve and keep learning makes me eager for the next practice, off-season work-out or training session. My realistic athletic goals are to continue playing the sport I love at a highly competitive level. Another goal of mine is to make an impact on the team as a supportive person who leads by example. I am already excited for the next level of football.
