My name is Michael Messinger, a senior at Commack High School, in Commack, New York. I have been a three year starter on my Varsity Team since my sophomore year, and a two year Captain as both a Junior and a Senior. I play one sport, and that is football. The positions that I play is Fullback and Inside/Outside Linebacker. For Personal awards and/or achievements, I was nominated for the Heart of Giant Award sponsored by USA Football and The New York Giants for one of the hardest-working football players in the New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut areas, being an eventual finalists. I have also received 1st Team All-Dvision nomination, along with 1st Team All-Academic nomination. I strive with leading blocking, pass protection, and also running the ball as a Fullback. On defense, at Linebacker, I am very aware, fast, strong, and a sure tackler.
Throughout my High School and Middle School years, I have been both a frequent High-Honor Roll, and Honor-Roll student, striving both on and off the field. I am involved in many International Baccalaureate (IB) classes such as IB English, IB History, IB Spanish, and IB Sports Medicine, having very good grades in all of those classes. I additionally am involved in a class called AP Human Geography.
I believe that as a person, I have some very strong character traits. For instance, I am an extremely hard-worker, and there is nothing that will get in my way of having success, in anything in my life. Additionally, I am a very social, and kind person, always caring about others, helping others, being a good friend, and enjoying life. Also, I work to gain, and maintain strong relationships with people in my life that I really care about. Lastly, I am a very balanced person, having very good grades, being an active athlete, having a job, and spending time with friends and family. I have very strong leadership qualities: being a role-model for my friends on, and off the field. I always put others before myself, and work everyday to make myself, along with the others around me, better, for overall great success. I am involved in community service activities as well, such as being a member of the Cancer Society, and Volunteer for The Special Olympics and The St. Baldricks, Childhood Cancer Foundation.
