Personal Statement
Growing up i was never the biggest, tallest, or fastest guy on the field. Starting organized football at the age of 5 years old, i was the smallest guy on the field. My name is Brandon Sims and I'm from New York City. Im currently 17years old and all my life i've been involved in football. My father was a die hard Oakland Raiders fan, my 3 brothers and i played organized football on the Springfield Rifles all our lives, even my sister enjoyed the game of football. Football runs through my blood. I cant get enough of it. I've played 10 amazing years on the Springfield Rifles. My nickname "muscles" was given to me because no matter how big the guy on the field i did whatever it took to take him out, Ive been awarded DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR 5 times, MVP 2 years straight (05-06), SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER twice and 3 PRESIDENTIAL AWARDS. Though ive never won a conference championship in the division, my last year playing Rifle ball, my team was selected to face off in Florida for National Championship as a "wildcard" team. Going in as the underdog we had to make a statement, and day by day one step at a time we prevailed and not only did we succeed, we were the only team out of NYC to win the 1st place trophy as we became National Champions of 2008. In 2008, i was accepted into Jamaica High School. As i walked into the school for the first time, my first conversation was with the head coach of the school's football team Calvin Whitfield. We discussed how we looked forward to my appearance on the field, and my freshmen year started off my true impact as a player to be watched.
