Evan Carlson-Stephenson '24 Recruiting Profile

Hello Coaches, I am a student- athlete at Rome Free Academy in a small town in Upstate New York. I've been a starting quarterback since I was 8 years old. I've been the starting varsity quarterback since my freshman year. I've always wanted to play at the next level. I realized this when I had the opportunity to go to the "Manning Passing Academy" in June of 2022. When Peyton Manning told me "You got a nice zip on that ball." I knew that I wanted to pursue my collegiate career with football.

My Collegiate goals are to develop my future so that I can obtain a first class education. I would like an opportunity to prove my leadership qualities with all of my teammates. Along this journey while becoming a weapon on the field, I bring the ability of accuracy and high football IQ, and the experience of picking apart any defense.  I would love to lead my school and team to a championship. I hold very high aspirations for myself and my team. To me, being successful starts in the classroom and maintaining a relationship with God, School, Football, Family and Friends. I feel that I am a great candidate because I am always the first to put cleats on the field and the last to leave. I am truly dedicated to winning, I am also very coachable and reliable and I treat all of my coaches and staff with the upmost respect. I feel as if I am different as an athlete because, most players HAVE to be at the weight room at 6 in the morning. I WANT to be in the weight room at 5 in the morning. I will give my full commitment and heart to the program that is willing to do the same for me. I am also different in the classroom because I always ask questions or ask for help if I need it.
