Matthew Peterman '19 Recruiting Profile

My name is Matthew Peterman and because of my lifestyle that I have grown up with I always put forth the max effort in everything I do no matter what. The main influence that has made me this way was my father because since a young age he was always deployed overseas with the military and there were roles that I had to fill with him being gone. Even at such a young age I realized with my father being gone that I needed to step up and take care of my family. The birth of my brother JJ made me realize what my role in life had to be. My brother was born with a severe case of autism, for a while no one even knew that he had this disability. We just thought he was special and it turns out we were right because he has been his own special little person for his whole life. This has highlighted the course and path in life I want to take. I am very close with my brother and I know what it takes to take care of someone with a disability. I have seen first-hand kids with disabilities being mistreated. This happened to my own brother so that is when I knew what I needed to do with my life. I decided I want to go to school for special education to make sure that children with disabilities are not mistreated. I can provide a safe and steady lifestyle for the children and their parents. This had made me try harder in sports because I want to make the biggest impact on my life and other families lives.    

My team football footage from last year was corrupted and lost and my father was deployed overseas with the military so I do not have any videos from last year. I will be updating and posting my highlight video each week after we finish our game for the week.
