Personal Statement
The person I am today is shaped by a multitude of factors from small experiences, personal relationships and life lessons alike. The most vital ingredients of who I am are centered within my family, friends, and football. Growing up, I was always much bigger than my classmates and those that were my age. There were times that bullying from other students would make me feel defeated and think less of myself. However, when I got on the football field, whether it be a game, practice, camp or a simple workout, I knew that was where I belonged. I found my purpose on the football field and it taught me that in order to better myself, both within the sport and personally, I must keep pushing to overcome the obstacles in my way.
Being a lineman, I have learned the significance of teamwork, humility and being there for those around me. I have been fortunate to participate in several volunteering opportunities within my community with our Varsity football team. These times of giving back have given me such satisfaction and pride. Serving others is the embodiment of teamwork. This, along with many other lessons in life, run parallel to the sport I love. I hope to have the ability to continue to be active within your program and community as a college student-athlete.
I am forever grateful for all of the ways I have grown as a person through the sport that I love. I truly believe that I have the maturity, work ethic and drive to make an impact on your team with my relentless determination and self-drive to contribute to your team to the best of my abilities.
