My name is Darrin Willingham Jr, but everybody calls me DJ and some of my data from Foothill college is listed as DJ.
I am a very goal oriented person who has loved football since I was a young kid. My hard work and dedication to training and participating in many athletic events over the years has helped me succeed. Playing football has allowed me to obtain many years of working as a team member. Football has taught me many life lessons both on and off the field. For 7 years I have played starting quarterback and my last year of high school I played starting wide receiver. It is during my senior year that I received honorable mention for All State All Stars as a first year wide receiver. This was a great accomplishment since I had only played this position for one season.
I attended Tilton School as a Post Graduate 2010-2011 and played wide receiver, safety, strong safety, and defensive back. I made the All State All Star team while attending Tilton. After Tilton I went to Merrimack for a year and am now at Foothill college and will be available to transfer the Spring term of 2015. I have two years of eligibility left after the 2014 season. in the 2014 season I was one of the team captains and received the Foothill Offense MVP award. I also received the All Conference Wide Receiver award.
I have always wanted to play football in college and because of this I have worked hard to make sure I am successful every season. Being a leader to my teammates over the years was a crucial component to my success because gaining the respect of my teammates is always important to me. It helps the team unite as one to become successful. The type of school I am looking for is one that takes pride in academic achievements as I feel my education is the most important aspect of my educational experience. Athletics are very important but I also want to make sure I am getting a good education.
