My academic and athletic goals are to reach my full potential by attending a college that meets my well-rounded needs as a student-athlete. I have been a student-athlete since a very young age, and while participating in multiple sports (basketball, track, football) it is still important to give back to the community and be a leader on a team, in the school community and in the community I serve. As a young man of color, I have participated and volunteered both locally and across the state. Currently, I facilitate a Young Men of Color group in which our mission is to educate young men of color how to navigate in a world with a long history of oppression. Our goal of our meetings is to provide a positive outlet for young adults and it's a place to connect and build relationships and community. More recently, I volunteered 12hrs with Albina Roadrunner track club which host developmental track meets for youth in the community (ages 6-15), and last summer I volunteered 65hours at Easter Seals: Camp Stand by Me which focuses on providing guidance to student-athletes with disabilities. As a student, my goal is to work in an industry (business and law) in which influences the lives of both college athletes and professional athletes. As an athlete, I would love to not only play football in college but develop my skills, talents and abilities to support my teammates and lead on the field and off the field. I am a good candidate for your team because I am small in stature, coachable, and I am an all around athlete that is both quick and dynamic on the field.
