Personal Statement
I have played College football at the D-3 level for two years. I started at QB for all of my freshmen year in the very competitive Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) league. The second year in my college career I switched to played FS at the end of fall camp. I was the backup FS to a Senior that is returning for his 5th season and I started on all Special Teams units. I have two full years of eligibly remaining.
I have been blessed with a great home and parents who have taught me to be a very hard worker. I am a three sport athlete, earning All-Conference awards my senior year in football, basketball and baseball. I had the honor of starting at the varsity level since my sophomore year, with the exception of baseball which I started my freshman year. I've always been a utility player in any sport I've played, and rarely given the opportunity to rest. I try my best at everything I do. I am strong leader and strive to set a good example for my teammates. I am very coachable and put in the extra effort to get where I am today. My private quarterback coach, John Charles, states I am very coachable, that I have a high football IQ, and learn quickly. One of the reasons Coach Charles says this is because I've had four different head coaches with different play calling during high school and I've had to learn new offenses each year. I have been around the game of football since I was knee high. I was the ball boy for The Gold Beach High School football team. They were back to back state champions and undefeated both years. I am also a certified Oregon football official for middle school. I have always enjoyed mentoring younger kids. My Christian faith has taught me many lessons which has helped in the ups and downs of athletics. I believe in giving back to my community and serving others. I volunteer at local food banks and have helped victims of wildland fires. It's a nice feeling to help others and give back to my community. My goal is to play football at the next level.
