Gabriel Skelley '12 Recruiting Profile

Sport: Football Position: Offensive Tackle, Defense End Altoona Area High School (Altoona, PA) Graduation Year: 2012 Personal Statement Hi there - I'm Gabriel Skelley, my friends and family call me Gabe, and I am a senior at the Altoona Area High School. I am 6 feet 5 inches tall and weigh in at 250 pounds. I have started on the Mountain Lion varsity football team for three years. In my sophmore year, I received the Altoona Mirror (my hometown newspaper) honors of All-Area and All-County Honorable Mention Offensive Lineman. Continuing into my junior year, as well as the previously mentioned honors, I also received my junior year all-Area 3rd team and All-County 2nd team,addition to the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League, WPIAL, Honorable Mention for Offensive Lineman. So far this year I have received Second Team Offensive Lineman honors in the WPIAL.  At the fall sports banquet, I was the recipient of the Otto Neidinger scholarship award - an award that is given to one person who demonstrates integrity, coachability and maintainence of goodd grades.  My idea of a good school, primarily, is an institution that has a biology program that produces well rounded, academically astute individuals. I am open minded about the school/university's locality and size. Of course, I would like to visit the campus and see if it and the coaching staff are the right fit for me. Included with biology would be the need to have an excellent football program where players and coaches alike have tremendous respect and cohesiveness with each other.
