I also play Basketball, and Track & Field
I am currently a Junior in Highschool and I'd have to say that my football career has almost been as much a a rollercoaster as my life has been. In my freshman year, our team went a terrible 2-8 but I started on both Defence and Offence that year. Then in my Sophomore year, things took a huge turnaround with our team going 7-3 in the regular season, earning us the third home playoff game in school history! Now I'm entering my Junior year in the best shape of my life in every aspect.
My personal life has also been a rollercoaster. When I was about 4 years old my sister (6 y.o.) was diagnosed with leukemia. With my mother staying with her at the hospital and my father working his ass off, I spent most of my time at my Grandma's house and I also went to a private school that's closed now. My sister fought and eventually beat cancer. Now come just 3 years later, she relapsed. Now it was the same thing but I was older then and I actually realized what was happening and it still makes me upset to think about it to this day. Now almost 7 years clean, my sister just recently received news that a cancerous tumor formed in her mouth. I pray every day that she'll be better.
Instead of being upset about the current situation, I've utilized it to make me a better person and athlete. I am motivated and inspired by her courage and thinking of her makes me want to get better and stronger to be the best I can be and more. I play this sport for her and always will. I am determined to move to the next level of my career to a Division 1 school not only for my family but for myself and the little kids in the elementary school that look up to guys like me.
