Mason Tanner '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Mason Tanner. I go to Toll Gate High School in Warwick, RI and I’ve been playing football since I was 5 years old.  I’m proud to say that I play and excel at all 3 phases of the game. My main positions are RB and OLB but I also wreak havoc on special teams in a lot of different ways, especially kick off returns.

 I’m a solid student, and hard worker, and live a goal-oriented lifestyle. I push myself to accomplish whatever I set out to do. For example, during the COVID lockdowns and distance learning (when football wasn’t an option) I set out to make Honors and I succeeded. Once football was allowed again, I told myself I’d be a starter my Junior year, so I hit the gym and studied, and once again, I succeeded, even taking home Team MVP for Special Teams. 

Because of COVID, my high school football career has not gone exactly as I had hoped for, but through hard work and dedication I have pulled myself through to get to where I am now in my Senior year. As of right now, we are 3 games into the season and I already have 5 TDs, multiple sacks and game changing tackles.

 Oh yeah, did I mention I’m REALLY fast? In fact, I took home the state championship in the 2023 Boys Junior 200M! That was in addition to many other medals and awards.

If I’m fortunate enough to earn a spot on your team, I will bring the same determination, work ethic, and grit to the classroom, locker room, and field for all 4 years. It will be a decision that you’ll never regret.
