Since I was four years old sports has been part of my life. I started flag football and tee ball at the age of four and these sports have helped me grow into the person I am today with that being a person I am proud of. Being a student athlete has taught me more than the game or sport itself. It has taught me hardwork, dedication, teamwork, respect, life balance, how to be successful, and perseverance. It has taught me that nothing is ever given and that it is all earned. Without hard work and dedication I would be average, but when you put both of those into your daily life it taught me I can be a team leader. In my house grades always come first. Being a student athlete is one of the most difficult things in my life so far. It has taught me how to balance my life with keeping my GPA up and still practicing daily. We have two mottos in the Strom Thurmond High School football program. The first one being F.A.M.I.L.Y. Forget about me, I love you. This is very important and something I strive for daily. No matter how good my grades are or how well I play I always think about this motto and remember teamwork. The second motto is P.C.C.W. Pride, Class, Courage, Will to Win. As long as I practice these four things in life I will always succeed. If given the opportunity, I would love to continue football at the next level as this has been what I have worked hard for since I was four years old.
