John Lunsford '14 Recruiting Profile

My name is John F. Lunsford Jr. and I play Football for the Anahuac Panthers of Anahuac High School in Anahuac Texas, Class of 2014.  I'm involved in several other sports including Track, Golf, Baseball, and Basketball but my favorite sport is Football where I'm a Defensive Tackle and Punter.  I'm built more like a linebacker, but play DT as a position of need on our team. I also this year (2013-2014) have been playing safety on the defensive side of the ball.  On the offensive side, i plan to play wide receiver this coming year.

My punting stats for my junior year (2012) on the Varsity team was 24 punts with a 34.29/yard average.  My ultimate goal is to increase this average by 10 yards for my Senior year.

My goal and dream is to continue my football career in college while getting an education in Criminal Justice.  Football is such a great sport to be involved in because it teaches me leadership and "team player" skills which I can carry with me into my later adult life, additionally allowing me to be part of a group or "team" whose ultimate goal is to work together through difficult challenges for a common goal.
